Parasite Protection Plan

Dogtopia Retreat Doggie Day Care is now offering a parasite prevention service for our regular attendees. We want to ensure our guests are protected against all the important parasites so they can be happy, healthy and enjoy their time running around with all their friends.  We also want to make it easy for you to keep them protected whilst taking away any stress you have around administering it.

How it works

  1. You simply let us know you would like to take part in our Parasite Protection Plan either via our sending us an email, text or call our number or speaking to one of our team members.
  2. You purchase the preventives product and package length that works for you 
  3. We keep the product at day care and administer it when it is due. There is no additional charge for this.
  4. You will receive a reminder when you are due to purchase more preventives.

Why is it important to protect your pet?

Heartworm can be deadly and is completely preventable

  • Heartworm is transmitted by mosquitoes and is prevalent in Townsville
  • Treatment is expensive and prolonged
  • Please note, if your dog has not been on heartworm prevention or is overdue, they must be tested before starting prevention

Fleas and Ticks can impact the health of your dog more than you think!

  • Irritating bites and itchy skin
  • Allergies, especially if exposed to fleas on a regular basis
  • Diseases such as Babesiosis and Bartonellosis, which can also be transmitted to humans
  • Paralysis from just one Paralysis Tick (fortunately not common in our city area)

Intestinal worms can affect dogs and humans and it isn’t just in the gut.

  • Larval stages of hookworm can penetrate skin and cause dermatitis and even blindness
  • Some forms of tapeworm can cause cysts in the lungs and brain
  • If the environment becomes contaminated with worm eggs, it can be incredibly difficult to get rid of them

Parasite prevention is really important to us at Dogtopia Retreat Doggie Daycare and we want to ensure all our daycare guests are protected so they can stay happy and healthy. To allow this to happen we require all attendees to send their parasite prevention details to help us make sure our records are up to date.

Offer

Parasite protection plans for either 6 or 12 months ranging from $25-$45 per month depending on the dogs weight and products chosen. Products include:

  • Simparica + Cazitel All-Wormer
  • Simparica Trio + Cazitel All-Wormer
  • Nexgard Spectra
